Smith” team_text=”Jaylin R. Smith is a native of Greenwood, Miss., and a first year graduate student in the Journalism and New Media program at the University of Mississippi. Her undergraduate experience can be attributed to Mississippi Valley State University, where she received two degrees in Mass Communications and Speech Communications with a concentration in broadcasting. She was the Valedictorian of her class. Smith is currently a McNair Scholar looking to further hone her skills in research and data analysis. Her upbringings and relationships with her mother, grandmother, and father have allowed her to understand the full context of strength, independence, Black womanhood, love and forgiveness. During his undergraduate years, the Collierville, Tenn., native freelanced as an arts and culture writer for the Daily Mississippian and Hotty Toddy News. Norris is currently pursuing a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications because he is passionate about creating engaging content to help organizations grow and reach their target audiences.
